The most effective way to get the sand out of the hair is to take a shower. Gently shampoo your hair and scalp under warm water. Most of the tiny pieces will be removed with the procedure. Repeat shampooing several times. Don’t forget to apply a conditioner, your hair definitely needs it after all this sand salt and sun.

Using some instant hair products when going to the beach also helps a lot. Specially designed for beach time products give your hair great protection from the harmful impact of the UV-rays and also protect it from salty water and sand. It becomes much easier to remove the sand from hair if you took care of it before going to the beach and applied some of these products.

There may be a situation when you don’t have access to clean water to shampoo your hair for some time after the beach. It may become a real problem because you have sand particles all over your body and hair. How to ease your life while you will be able to soak in clean warm water in your bathroom?

Shaking

First of all, shake your hair. Shake your head and use your fingers to get the sand out of the hair as much as possible.

Combing

Then take a wide-toothed comb and start combing your hair from the ends to the top. Very gently! It may be really tangled and wet and it won’t be easy to comb it in this case. Be patient and work on it carefully. Do as much as possible without pulling out the hair.

Baby powder

After removing some sand with the comb, take some baby powder. Apply it onto your scalp and hair and continue combing your hair. Baby powder is a good and helpful ingredient to get the sand out of the hair.

Dry shampoo

Dry shampoo may boost the process as well. Apply some of the dry shampoo onto your hair and brush it out. It should significantly remove the sand particles.

Hairdryer

A hairdryer may also help in getting sand out of hair. Set it on cold temperature and blow it through your hair and scalp. Rub your hair with fingers and brush it while using the hairdryer.

Combine some of these methods if sand particles are really hard to get rid of.

Sand may last really long on your body after beach time. Mixed with the salt and sunscreen products it may be really clingy.

First of all, try to brush it off leaving the beach as much as possible. If it is not possible to take a shower right after the beach then use the ingredient we mentioned before – baby powder. It will help remove sand from your skin. Apply it on dry or wet skin and brush it off.

When you will finally get into the shower, use the sponge very gently on your body! The skin is dry and irritated after the sun and sand. Don’t use any scrubbing products and avoid hot water!

Apply some lotion or oil on your skin after a shower to soothe your skin after all the adventures.

How to get sand out of ear

If you feel discomfort because of the sand in ear, first of all, try not to make it go deeper into the ear canal. Do not use cotton sticks! It may cause serious damage and bring an infection to your ear canal. Tilt your head and pull your ear gently to help the sand fall out. If after some time you feel pain in your ear, go to a hospital. Do not try to solve the problem by yourself. And once again – do not use cotton sticks!

It may be really dangerous to get the sand in your eyes, so please, if you have a problem, be careful! Don’t rub your eye! Sand particles may scratch the cornea. Usually, the foreign objects are flushed out of the eye with tears. But it doesn’t always work with the sand.

If you have a problem, it’s better to try to flush the eye with clean water.  Move your eye from side to side ad continue rinsing it with water. Some mild eye drops may also help. If it continues to hurt and the sand won’t get out, go see a doctor!

To enjoy your beach time fully, think about what item should you bring in your beach bag to help remove sand from your skin. We highly recommend taking some baby powder with you, along with sunscreen and some products for hair protection.
