  1. Good day to all! I’ve recently received a bamboo steamer for Birthday but I never used one before. Does anyone here know how to steam vegetables in it?

    • Hello!I have one, too! That’s a great thing, indeed! You will need a wok to use it, actually, or other wide casserole or pan. What I do is just put the steamer with veggies inside the wok, pour water into the pan (it must cover the bottom of the steamer to the half or so), and turn the low heat on. But if you want faster, then pre-boil water first.

    • Try to use either a colander and a casserole, or a deep pan with a lid. The colander will allow avoiding veggies from contacting with water so they might be a bit harder than from the pan.

  6. My greetings to everyone here! I do need a bit of advice! How long does it take to steam broccoli? Want to try it but not sure when to take it out.

    • Hello! I guess it matters whether you’re cooking a whole bunch or only flowerets. The whole broccoli will be ready after nearly 15 minutes I guess. I always cut it into flowerets since they are cooked in just 3-5 min! And I don’t think it matters much what method of steaming you choose.
